The Marine Design Center of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to initiate an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the procurement of one new steel excavator barge for the Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District for use in support of its Maintenance Mission on the inland navigation system. Principal Characteristics: Length molded 150’-0” Breadth molded 40’-0” Molded Depth (@ C.L.) 9’-0” Maximum Design Draft 5’-0” Deck House Day Room Spuds Significant Equipment: Generator – Two Diesel Generators, one Harbor Generator Traveling Spud Carriage The vessel is to be built and classed by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS): “Rules for Building and Classing Marine Vessels” Bid bond and payment and performance bond will be required. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) W912BU-23-B-0024 is intended to be available on or about August 7th, 2023. Hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. Contractors may download the solicitation (including drawings) and any amendments via the hyperlink to the SAM.gov website, www.sam.gov, on (or after) the issue date. The offical media of distribution is the web. All amendments to the IFB will be posted to the SAM.gov website. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the website in order to access the solicitation. Offerors are responsible for printing copies of the IFB and any amendments. Bids will be due on or about September 6th, 2023. NAICS code is 336611 - Ship Building and Repair. All contractors are required to be registered n the System for Award Management (SAM) before award as required by DFARS 204.7300. Information on getting registered may be obtained by accessing the SAM website at www.sam.gov. Instructions will be included in the solicitation. Also, all Service Disabled/Veteran Owned Business or Veteran Owned Small Business must be registered with the Department of Veterans Affairs Center of Veterans Enterprise Vet Biz Registry located at https://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/.
