PRE-SOLICITATION SYNOPSIS The USACE Marine Design Center of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to initiate an Invitation for Bid (IFB) to acquire two (2) welded steel barges. The barges will be used in support of the civil works maintenance and repair mission of the St. Paul District. The principal dimensions of each barge shall be as follows: Length Overall ......................120'- 0" Beam (Overall)..................... 30'- 0" Depth (Molded at Centerline) ............ 7’-0” Depth (Molded at Side).............. 6’-9” Bow ...............Raked Stern..............Raked Design Deck Loading .......... 2,000 PSF Contractor will be required to fabricate and deliver the barges to the Government. Delivery and final acceptance will be at the U.S. Army Engineer District St. Paul, Fountain City Wisconsin. There will be liquidated damages associated with this procurement. Bid guarantee, payment, and performance bonding will be required. The Invitation for Bid Number (IFB) is intended to be available on or about September 21, 2022. Hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. Contractors may download the solicitation (including drawings) and any amendments on the System for Award Management (SAM website, www.SAM.gov , on (or after) the issue date. The official media of distribution for the IFB is the Web. All amendments to the IFB will be posted to the Beta.Sam.Gov website. It is the offeror’s responsibility to monitor the website in order to access the solicitation. Offeror’s are responsible for printing copies of the IFB and any amendments.Bids will be due on, or about October 25, 2022 and will be received electronically. NAICS code is 336611 – Ship Building and Repair. All contractors are required to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) before award as required by DFARS 204.7300. Information on getting registered may be obtained by accessing the SAM website at www.sam.gov . Instructions will be included in the solicitation. Also, firms who receive a Federal contract in excess of $25,000.00 are required by legislation to submit an annual VETS Report on your employment of targeted veterans.
