This will include bringing the elevator system up to code to the greatest extent possible. The existing elevator cab and the five existing elevator landing doors will be reused, while the existing elevator door on the cab will be replaced. The machine room and elevator shaft need to be separately enclosed with a 2-hour fire rated wall. For potential hazardous work there is lead and there is the presence of asbestos/asbestos dust in the wiring, possibly in the machine room door, elevator brake shoes, rough black coating on the outside of the car, and mats hanging on the inside of the car. The interior doors of the elevator tested positive for lead primer via a 3M Instant Test kit. A site visit is scheduled for to start at 9:00am (Central Time) on 18 June 2024. Individuals attending the site visit shall provide the following information by 2:00pm Central Time on 17 June 2024: (1) Attendee’s name, (2) Firm being represented (3) Firm’s Unique SAM ID Number Contractors shall provide the above information to Clinton Russell and Nadine Catania via email at clinton.e.russell@usace.army.mil and nadine.l.catania@usace.army.mil. Attendees shall meet at the Powerhouse Employee Parking Lot located near 33573 N. Shore RD, Ft. Thompson, SD 57339. Additional instructions may be provided due to the number of individuals attending the site visit and the space available for the site visit.
