Please submit the best suggested engine for that boat per the terms of the solicitation. _ _ _ _ This is a requirement to provide a custom-built aluminum boat designed for shallow-water operation on the Missouri River. The boat is designed to carry personnel and cargo through shallow areas, with water less than one foot deep. Most commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) boats do not meet the specific requirements, and experience has shown that they are not as durable as the custom-built boats. This boat will be used to carry out surveys of threatened and endangered species on the Missouri River. These surveys require travel through shallow waters that are subject to many hazards, such as sandbars and snags that are hidden just below the water's surface. Experience has shown that these larger boats are much safer in these conditions than smaller boats that have typically been used in the past.
