This project will be executed using a design-bid-build (DBB) project delivery method, which will require the contractor to provide the government with a complete facility and warranty based on the Request for Proposal (RFP). Estimate of the magnitude of this project is between $1M - $5M. The project will be constructed near flight line facilities at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota. Construct 458 SM (4,931 SF) Explosive Ordinance Disposal Facility to accommodate vehicle storage and equipment storage. Functional areas include storage of special purpose clothing and equipment, storage for mobility equipment, a heated garage for emergency vehicles, and storage for classified materials. The foundation system for the facility should be shallow foundations with over excavation of the soil under the building footprint and replacing that soil with compacted fill. The structure of the facility will consist of steel framing and masonry walls. The lateral load resisting system is anticipated to be ordinary steel braced frame.
