The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha District plans to issue an invitation for bid (IFB) using the FAR Part 14 – Sealed Bidding method for the project titled: Bedrock Maintenance Excavation, Missouri River at Florence Bend Near Omaha, NE. The tentative date to issue the IFB is 18 January 2022, with bids due and bid opening on or around 22 February 2022. Downstream of the I-680 bridge, near Omaha, NE, the Missouri River navigation channel contacts a bedrock outcrop commonly referred to as the Florence Reef. Missouri River degradation has resulted in insufficient navigation channel dimensions at several locations within the area between river mile (RM) 626.4 to 625.0. Material removal is necessary to restore the minimum navigation channel dimensions on the Missouri River in Nebraska and Iowa. Construction duration is 200 calendar days after issuance of the notice to proceed. Estimated Magnitude of Construction is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. USACE Omaha District will post all solicitation documents to SAM.gov.
