The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha District plans to issue an invitation for bid (IFB) using the FAR Part 14 – Sealed Bidding method for the project titled: Missouri River Recovery Program Fawn Island Bank Stabilization, Missouri River Mile 674, Harrison County, Iowa. The tentative date to issue the IFB is 28 July 2021, with bids due and bid opening on 31 August 2021. The proposed action includes further stabilization to the riverbank, below or at the ordinary high water mark. Construction would include the extension of three existing dikes, and the construction of four new dikes to fortify the toe of the existing revetment. In areas where no bank protection currently exists, a total of approximately 1,100 linear feet of new revetment would be installed in various locations to stabilize the banks. This would require approximately 16,400 tons of new quarried rock riprap. Access and construction MUST take place entirely from the river with river-based equipment. Construction duration is 730 calendar days after issuance of the notice to proceed. Estimated Magnitude of Construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
