Purpose: By way of this Market Survey/Sources Sought Notice, the USACE-Omaha District intends to determine the extent of capable firms that are engaged in providing the services described hereunder. The responses to this notice will be used for planning purposes for upcoming procurements. Therefore, this notice does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), Quotation or Bid; it does not guarantee the future issue of a RFP/IFB; nor does it commit the government to contract for any supply or service. Further, this Agency will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondents are advised that this Agency will not pay for any information or administrative cost incurred in response to this Notice; all costs associated with responding to this Notice will be solely at the responding party's expense. At this time, proprietary information is not being requested, and respondents shall refrain from providing proprietary information in response to this Sources Sought Notice. Intent: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Omaha District (NWO), intends to pursue award of a contract to supply and install generator air (GA) coolers and thrust bearing oil (TBO) coolers at the Gavins Point Project located in Crofton, Nebraska. Work anticipated under this requirement includes replacement of the generator air (GA) coolers and thrust bearing oil (TBO) coolers at Gavins Point Power Plant. The contractor will be required to furnish and install the new generator air and thrust bearing oil coolers. The contractor will also be required to furnish and install associated supply piping, and other new equipment such as the strainers, pumps and motors as part of this contract. The contractor will manufacture new units, which meet or exceed original capacities, and install redesigned coolers, and associated supply piping. New main unit raw water strainers, and new raw water pumps motors will also be installed. GA and TBO coolers will be designed so that they are more easily accessible for cleaning without substantial disassembly. Coolers will maintain the current footprint. The associated piping will be redesigned and replaced to be located closer to the unit. The contractor will be required to provide and implement proper PPE as necessary throughout the duration of the project. Contractor will be required to provide all equipment necessary to complete this project. Prior Government contract work is not required for submitting a response to this sources sought synopsis.
