On or about 2 March 2020, the Government intends to issue a solicitation for the Fabrication and Replacement of Intake Gates and Draft Tube Bulkhead at Fort Randall Dam in Pickstown, South Dakota. The solicitation will close on or about 1 April 2020. The solicitation is Unrestricted and open to both large and small business participation. All contractors must be registered and have an active and verified account in the System for Award Management (SAM) in order to receive a contract from any DoD activity. Contractors may access the internet site at https://www.sam.gov/ to register and/or obtain information about the SAM program. Contractors must ensure that the applicable NAICS code is included in their proposal prior to submission of offer. Project Description: There are six (6) intake gates and one (1) draft tube bulkhead gate being replaced at Fort Randall. Fort Randall has an upcoming major powerhouse rehabilitation involving the turbines. The Government has determined an additional three (3) sets (six [6] total) of gates will be required at Fort Randall to satisfy maintenance needs while still having emergency closure capabilities at all units. The intake gates are also used to allow the intake bulkheads to be installed and removed as the intake bulkheads require static water and balanced pressure on both sides of the bulkhead during installation and removal. NAICS Code: The Primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code anticipated for solicitation is NAICS 332312 “Fabricated Structural Metal Manufacturing” with a Small Business size standard of 500 employees.
