Fort Peck Dam, situated along the Missouri River, has a hydroelectric generating facility with a nameplate capacity of 185 MW divided between Powerhouse 1 and Powerhouse 2. Fort Peck Dam will replace the low impedance reactor and breaker with a high impedance ground since the reactor and the neutral breaker have reached the end of their useful life; the project would like to limit unit fault currents. This project is to supply Fort Peck with a replacement for the generator neutral breakers and reactors with a modern high resistance grounding (HRG) system and cable voltage suppressors. The HRG will reduce the damage to the cables and to the generator caused by single line to ground faults which are the most common type of fault in generators and cables. This project will be for all 5 Units at Fort Peck. This purchase will be for the HRGs only. The installation will be completed by the federal employees at Ft. Peck Dam.
