On or about 13 July 2020, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) – Omaha District, intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for Middle Logan Creek Flood Risk Management Project Phase 1 The solicitation will close on or about 12 August 2020. The scope of this project is to furnish all plant, labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work for Randolf Section 205, Middle Logan Creek, NE. Work shall be in accordance with plans and specifications issued with this solicitation. The project is a flood risk management project located along the Middle Logan Creek in Randolph, Nebraska. The work reach extends from approximately 200 feet downstream of Jackson Street bridge to approximately 220 feet upstream of Sholes Road bridge. The work in general comprises 1) earthwork/grading for the realigned and widened Middle Logan Creek channel - excavating existing channel and widening existing channel bottom to approximately 40 feet with 100 foot top for about 15% of channel and 100 foot bottom with 150 foot top for about 85% of channel 2) channel widening under Jackson Street bridge and transition to existing channel downstream of Jackson Street bridge; 3) channel improvements with erosion and grade control; areas of placement of new riprap, and miscellaneous erosion controls such as turf reinforcement mat, seeding, erosion control blanket, silt fence, etc; 4) new and extended storm drainage structures; 5) removal and replacement of Bridge Street and Sholes Road bridges with longer structures over the widened channel; 6) vertical roadway realignment for approaches to Sholes Road and Bridge Street bridges; 7) new 3 strand barb wire fencing, new concrete pavement, and new aggregate pavement; 8) approximately 425 feet of channel widening of the north-south reach of the South Branch tributary of Middle Logan Creek; and 9) installation of approximately 200 feet of 8 inch water main. The new and widened main channel of Middle Logan Creek work has an approximate length of 3400 feet. Demolition and relocation of existing utilities other than storm drainage and domestic water will be performed by the owner of the effected utility and will take place prior to the beginning of construction. Estimated Magnitude of Construction is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. All solicitation documents will be posted to the web via Beta SAM.gov (beta.sam.gov).
