On or about 20 July 2020, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) – Omaha District, intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for Plunge Pool Repairs at Salt Creek, NE. The solicitation will close on or about 19 August 2020. This project is intended to repair damaged plunge pools and outlet channels caused by the 2019 Flood Event. High releases resulted in riprap displacement and sloughed channel banks. In general, repairs will involve grading and reshaping of sloughed banks, placing riprap and bedding material around plunge pool perimeters, along with removal of accumulated sediment/debris as needed to ensure adequate downstream channel capacity. Seeding of disturbed areas will be required. It is anticipated that the contract will consist of a base contract with options. Site work will be conducted during a September 1st to March 1st construction period. Prior to commencement of construction at each site, the reservoirs will be drawn down as necessary to be below the ungated inlet of the intake structure so that water will not be flowing into the work area from the outlet conduit. Construction duration will be 180 Calendar Days. Estimated Magnitude of Construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. All solicitation documents will be posted to the web via Beta SAM.gov (beta.sam.gov).
