On or about 8 May 2019, this office will issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the Low Flow Intake Repair Bear Creek Dam, CO. The solicitation will close approximately 20 days after solicitation. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. A site visit is NOT anticipated at this time. However, this could change when the solicitation is released. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: The scope of work includes providing the work necessary to install an approximately two foot long, 5/16" steel liner inside of the existing 36" diameter steel lower level intake pipe at Bear Creek Dam intake structure. Installation of the inner liner will require base metal preparation, fabrication and welded installation of liner, painting and grouting of the annular space between existing pipe and liner. Access to the lower level intake pipe will require the installation of a temporary inflatable plug at the upstream intake and the fabrication and installation of a temporary splash guard in the intake structure wet well, removal and reinstallation of the lower level intake pipe butterfly valve, (2) flexible couplings and (2) pipe segments. Butterfly valve seals to be replaced and tested to ensure they are leak-proof. Four existing joints of the lower level RCP intake pipe segments will be tested for leaks in accordance with ASTMs C1103 and C969. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $25,000 - $100,000 _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 120 months after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
