The summary of work to be performed will be a design-build effort to construct a new 4,000 sq ft raised space to include offices, break rooms, and restrooms in the existing building. Currently, Bldg 1502 is located in the Northeast corner of FE Warren Air Force base on the outskirts of Cheyenne Wyoming. The existing structure was built in 1985 and consists of a masonry and metal panel clad, pre-engineered, metal building structure. The total building footprint is roughly 14,200SF, with a main high bay area being 11,000SF and a 3,200 SF one story ‘shed’ portion on the north side of the building. The interior of the main building is a large open space where the underside of the roof structure is approximately 50’ above the floor. Currently there are two bridge cranes that cover the entire high bay area. The bridge crane over the proposed raised area has not been serviced or certified for several years, primarily because it is not required. The current facility has 2,200SF of production space and 3,500SF of storage space. These spaces are grossly undersized. Temporary office spaces have been constructed in the middle of the space decreasing the use of the main floor area. Moving these office spaces up onto a raised second floor would free up much needed production and storage space on the main level. The 50’ of clear space between the floor and the structure above is adequate to accept a raised second floor and its associated structure.
