The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, is soliciting a competitive firm-fixed-price construction contract for the comprehensive repair and rehabilitation of two Tainter valves (TV3 & TV4) at the John Day Lock and Dam. The work includes structural and weld repairs (addressing cracking, corrosion, and cavitation damage) per AWS D1.1 standards, plus replacement of seals, seal plates, armor plates, and bushings, along with removal, transport, and reinstallation of the valves and required as-built surveys. Contractors must be AISC-certified with a fracture-critical endorsement and have at least five years of documented experience on similar projects. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000, with a period of performance of 321 days after Notice to Proceed. Performance will take place at the John Day Lock and Dam and a certified fabrication shop, under full and open competition.
