This is a SOURCES SOUGHT and is for informational/market research purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, QUOTATION OR BID, NOR A SYNOPSIS OF A PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION UNDER FAR SUBPART 5.2. This Sources Sought is to gain knowledge of the interest, capabilities, and qualifications of industry so the government can make informed business decisions. We are seeking responses from both large and small business members of industry to include: Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Businesses to include 8(a) firms, Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone), Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) to include Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small business (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB). Project Background. Original transformer bushings at the Foster Powerhouse have a damaged sealing surface between the bushing and the transformer. The damaged seal is causing oil to leak out of the transformer. Historical repairs to these bushings have also failed. Further repair is not feasible. Project Scope. Three replacement transformer bushings are needed. The bushings’ characteristics that must be met are provided follows: Voltage: Rated to 4160V or higher to meet system voltage Ampere: rated to 5400A or higher so to not limit the transformer’s designed current/power rating. Overall bushing length needs to be 18 ½” long in order to fit within the existing bushing enclosure. Electrical connections must be 3” pipe with the same thread pitch as existing bushings in order to make electrical connections to the transformer windings and the 4160V bus. Flange bolt pattern must match exactly the same in order for the bushing to mount flush onto the transformer’s case with no leaks. Bushing must be bottom connect type construction, in order for proper connection to transformer winding. “Through bushing connection” type will not work. Submission Instructions.
