The existing tower at Maxwell AFB, constructed in 1955 and is believed to be oldest active ATCT in USAF inventory, fails to meet current mission requirements. This effort requires a modern ATCT facility of adequate size and configuration, to control current C-130H, DV mission, transient, and future aircraft air traffic within the air operations area.
