THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE SYNOPSIS/Solicitation in accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(15). In accordance with FAR 6.302-1 determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is solely within the discretion of the Government. This is not a request for competitive quotes and ACC-RSA will not be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice. However, all interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Written responses to this Synopsis/Solicitation shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. The Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC), Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, has a sole source requirement for a VxWorks Renewal for the Systems Readiness (SRD) Directorate. This is a Sole Source with USI electronics, A DIVISION OF AVNET, INC (USI). USI is the only source capable of providing the VxWorks Renewal. VxWorks is proprietary software and is a Real Time Operating System with core partitioning and other features required to meet the need to match our systems as closely as possible to programs we provide analysis and assistance to in the field of Multi-Core processing and air-worthiness. Fielding a mis-matched operating system in our tasks would lead to erroneous and misleading results. This would render all analysis unusable in the practice of ensuring software for said programs meet airworthiness standards. No solicitation documents exist at this time. This item utilizes North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 513210. IAW FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii) All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. This Synopsis/Solicitation is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the Government will consider any responses from capable sources received within 7 days after date of publication of this Synopsis/Solicitations.
