The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requires the fabrication, testing, and delivery of one worm gear speed reducer to the Willow Island Locks and Dam, with an option for a second unit. The gearbox must be delivered within 26 weeks after the notice to proceed. The contractor must have significant, specific experience in designing, fabricating, and rebuilding gearboxes for hoisting applications, including in-house gear manufacturing and a minimum of 10 gearboxes produced in the past two years.
