The city of Massillon is protected by two earthen levees on each side of the Tuscarawas River. The Massillon Levee Repair consists of the following major features: Stone slope protection at the toe for 4,000 LF West and 7,500 LF East Levees, for the entire length of both levees; Excavated material is to be hauled to a designated disposal site and/or placed on-site in beneficial use areas; Large debris will be removed and properly disposed; Areas disturbed by the work shall be returned to original state and seeded; Contractor shall obtain all permits and submit a Traffic Control Plan for state approval; Contractor shall need to possess, or have access to, necessary equipment and manpower to place stone on the West and East Levees concurrently.
