Maintenance Dredging of the Winter Harbor Federal Navigation Channel
The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is conducting a sources sought notice for a future firm-fixed-price construction contract to perform maintenance dredging of the Winter Harbor Federal Navigation Channel in Mathews County, Virginia. The work involves hydraulic pipeline dredging of approximately 101,000 CY base and 29,000 CY optional sandy material, with placement in a Government-furnished unconfined shoreline placement area north of the channel and an estimated pumping distance of 9,500 linear feet. The estimated construction price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000, and the construction period is 120 calendar days from issuance of the NTP. Dredging is prohibited from April 1 to October 31 of any year due to environmental time-of-year restrictions. Definitive Responsibility Criteria will assess prior hydraulic pipeline dredging experience of at least 50,000 CY pumped two miles or more in bay/coastal environments and unconfined nearshore placement experience within the past five years.
