The Norfolk District, Army Corps of Engineers is anticipating a future procurement for a Firm Fixed Price Invitation for Bid (IFB), Construction contract, for Oyster Channel Maintenance Dredging, Northampton County, Virginia. Description of Work: The US Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, is seeking qualified and experienced firms capable of performing approximately 112,000 cubic yards of maintenance dredging from the Oyster Channel Federal Navigation Project located in Northampton County, Virginia. The material, consisting of a combination of sands, silts and clays, will be dredged and hydraulically placed by pipeline to an upland Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) located approximately 3,600 feet from the channel. A hydraulic cutter-head dredge and support equipment will be required to accomplish this work. Placement of the dredged material within the nearby upland CDF will require sufficient horsepower to pump the dredge material through a pipeline for the distance necessary. Construction Time: Anticipated solicitation issuance timeframe is on or about April 2020, and the estimated proposal due date timeframe is on or about May 2020. The construction period of performance will be approximately 90 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The official synopsis citing the solicitation number will be issued on the System for Award Management website (Beta.Sam.Gov) and inviting firms to register electronically to receive a copy of the solicitation when it is issued. In accordance with FAR 36/DFARs 236, the estimated construction price range for this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. NAICS Code 237990 applies with a small business size standard of $36,500,000.00. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis.
