Tar Lake Superfund
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Detroit District is seeking a contractor for a Firm-Fixed Price environmental services contract. The work will take place at the Tar Lake Superfund Site in Mancelona Township, Michigan. The project entails excavating approximately 172,500 tons of contaminated soil, backfilling with clean imported soils, installing new biosparge wells, and constructing a roughly 160 square foot pre-engineered structure to house the biosparge system compressors. Ancillary activities include abandoning existing groundwater monitoring wells, installing new monitoring wells, implementing erosion control measures, conducting a utility survey, performing confirmation soil sampling, and completing site restoration.
