The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Detroit District is seeking contractors that have the capability to provide construction services for replacing the overhead crane rails at the Main Powerhouse in Sault Sainte Marie, MI. Mobilize to Sault Sainte Marie, MI and provide construction services to replace the 30 Ton and 80/20 Ton crane rails at the Main Powerhouse. Large rail gaps and misalignments exist on both the gatehouse and powerhouse bridge crane rails. These rails rest on structural I-beams. This misalignment has resulted in crane rail damage. The rails are being replaced in order to maintain the bridge crane functionality for the remainder of the crane’s life. The new rails will be aligned to CMAA 70 standards. The contractor will be required to perform an initial survey and a final survey after replacing the rails. The supporting I-beams are not being modified and the existing clip bolt holes are to be reutilized. The rails, rail hardware, and supporting beams are painted with Lead Primer. Demobilize once work is complete. Note that Amendment 0001 has the number 0003 in Block 2 of the SF30. Amendment 0002 has the number 0005 in Block 2 of the SF30.
