Construction involves the placement of dredged material obtained from the Federal Navigation Channel to create an approximately 14 acre beach for piping plover foraging and nesting habitat. Other activities include debris removal, grubbing and clearing, grading material to meet required beach profile, placement of cobble patches for nesting, and installation of a perimeter fence to exclude mammalian predators and trespassers.
