The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District is seeking contractors for the FY19 Sheboygan Breakwater Repairs project. The work include, but not limited to mobilization to Sheboygan Harbor, partial demolition of the existing concrete cap block, encapsulation of the existing pier by constructing a new anchored steel sheet pile wall structure around it, removal of existing scoure stone from drive line and reused at the new wall, filing any voids within the new wall structure with a graded fill stone, construction of a reinforced concrete slab on top of the structure and demoblization when work is completed. General Information: The estimated price of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, which has a size standard of $36.5 Million in average annual receipts. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) is intends to be issued a firm-fixed price contract set aside for small Businesses. Approximate solicitation posting date: Early August 2019 The solicitation package will include attachments of plans/drawings, specifications. The anticipated solicitation will be available only electronically and via FedBizOpps at www.fbo.gov. Hard copy documents will NOT be supplied by the Government to any interested parties as a result of the solicitation. Please note that the Government will not be maintaining a bidders list during the solicitation period. However, vendors are strongly encouraged to review the "Interested Vendors List" tab found on the FedBizOpps website for this solicitation. In order for interested contractors to conduct business with the Federal Government, contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to submission of bid. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District is seeking firms that have the capability to provide construction services to mobilizing to the Sheboygan South Breakwater, Wisconsin, and removal of existing armor stone and construction of a Steel Sheet Pile (SSP) encapsulation of the existing wood crib dam structure. Voids in encapsulation are to be filled with graded stone. A concrete cap is to be placed on top of the (SSP) structure and armor stone placed at the toe of the sheet pile. Project also, includes clean-up and demobilization. This Sources Sought announcement is for planning and market research purpose only. The results of the market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. This is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP), or Information for Bid (IFB). Requirement: The responses received to this notice shall be in summary format and shall not exceed five (5) pages, including the attached response form.
