The proposed action is for a new Firm-Fixed-Price contract to Soukos Robots Demil USA, Inc. ("Soukos") for services which include the transport and development testing of the Castalia MK3 Demilitarization System (Castalia MK3). JPdL-CBD3, with its Department of Defense and Army consortium partners, seeks to identify new and novel technologies to facilitate chemical weapons destruction. The proposed action is for the transport of the MK3 from Larissa, Greece to the Aberdeen Proving Ground, South (APG-S) (Edgewood Area) for the purpose of conducting developmental testing. Soukos, along with Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC), will be providing subject matter expertise to support the planned testing through this contract action. The Government has identified the Castalia MK3 as an alternate technology that appears to have the capability to destroy large quantities of both chemical warfare material (CWM) and conventional ammunition in a revolutionary, previously untested manner that has the potential to be more efficient and cost effective than existing or previously tested technologies.
