CBRND Seeking Aircraft Interior Decontamination Technology
The Department of War’s PME CBRND / JPM CBRN SOF is seeking information, design concepts, and mature technologies for a Tactical Aircraft Interior Decontamination Dispersal System. The goal is a mature, rapidly deployable, highly reliable hardware applicator that uniformly delivers fine-aerosol, dry-fog, or gaseous decontaminants throughout military aircraft interiors without damaging sensitive electronics. Key requirements include sub-10-micron VMD aerosol/dry fog or gas-phase dispersion, a stowed envelope fitting a Polaris MRZR cargo bed, empty weights of =150 lbs threshold/=100 lbs objective, =500 lbs fully loaded, and power operation from 110–120 VAC, =6 kW generators, or 28 VDC with MIL-STD-704 objective. The system must support internal cabin placement and external ducting into constrained cockpits, be compatible with specified decontaminants, use five or fewer major items or a single consolidated chassis, and have core dispersal technology at TRL 6 or higher.
