Parachute packing tables. 44' packing tables- the contractor shall design the tables from the given dimensions and attached drawings. The contractor will select materials on the basis on quality and durability in mind. The new tables must be of a high quality due to the nature of packing parachutes; the packers consistently use their body weight and press against/ rock the tables to maneuver the parachutes. Because of this all of the table's materials, joints, and hardware must be designed and built with this in mind. The quantity will be 34 total packing lanes. The lanes will be 44 total feet consisting of 4 x 8' tables and 2 x 6' foot tables. •· Table dimensions- Wooden table top- stained/sealed on all sides for durability, with round edges 3' wide x min 1.25" thick. Quantity of tables- 74 x 8' tables without padding and 62 x 8' with padding and QTY 72 6' tables without padding. •· Metal legs that are adjustable min 35" - max 44" table top height •· Table top must have 6" over hang on all sides •· tables with the padding will have a 1/4" padding with canvas covering (Red) •· MIN 16" wide Shelf centered under the table with minimum 9" clearance off the floor (to allow a broom to sweep underneath) must be able to support a maximum of 600lbs. •· D ring centered on bottom shelf of either end of the table. •· *The type and dimensions of the metal legs and hardware are to be determined by the contractor. The pictures and drawings are to highlight the needed features not the exact hardware. The materials used may vary slightly IOT have the most structurally sound table. Attached drawings Installation- The contractor shall build/construct the tables partially or completely off site (as much as possible) IOT allow the least amount of time on site/ down time for the packers. Due to the nature of packing parachutes, the new tables will have to replace the old ones incrementally in order to allow the mission to continue and the production of packed parachutes to not stop. No more than 50% of pack table can be made unusable at any one time. A projected work schedule/ plan will be due to the KO/ COR 30 days after the awarding of the contract and 5 days after any changes.
