The United States Military Academy, Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering, has a requirement for a contractor to provide maintenance of the NEC 5SDH Accelerator. The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to perform maintenance of the NEC 5SDH Accelerator. Perform basic preventative maintenance to ensure the continued operation of the accelerator. Ensure equipment is able to meet original specification of manufacturer after a suitable conditioning period. Provide an option for up to two unscheduled (urgent) maintenance visits within five (5) business days to diagnose and repair problems that cannot be remedied through email, phone, or online support. Services include on site preventative maintenance to include complete inspection of the ion source and the Pelletron accelerator. The Contractor shall ensure the machine is performing properly. The maintenance shall include complete inspection of the ion source and the Pelletron accelerator. Replacing of the following parts as necessary: RF quarts bottles, canals, and insulators; source and extractor resistors; gaskets and O-rings; electrical feedthrus; rubidium recharging; charging chains, carbon brushes; pickoff pulleys and sheaves; column resistors; and desiccant as necessary. Provide testing to ensure equipment meets original specification of Manufacturer.
