A need is anticipated for the procurement of the removal and replace Fire Station 2 Bay Floor. Approximately 2,600 square feet with a floor drain under each of the two parking stalls. Contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, and supervision to complete all work in accordance with these specifications below: Item 1: Mechanically remove the existing coatings by grinding them off. Item 2: Mechanically clean and prepare existing slabs by abrading the concrete with shot blasting equipment that is water, dust and chemical free. Item 3: Power sweep the entire floor to remove any dirt or blasting debris. Item 4: Cut a ½" x ½" key where the perimeter of the newly resurfaced floor will be exposed to traffic and recess all the edges for a smooth transition and superior bond. Item 5: Mechanically prepare the areas around the perimeter and all other tight areas with hand scarifiers or grinders. This equipment is vacuumized but may create minimal surface dust. Item 6: Repair cracks in the floor by ‘V' cutting them with a chipping hammer and patching with an epoxy repair compound. Item 7: Pre fill all divots larger than 2" with an epoxy-patching compound. Item 8: Apply Floor Resurfacing 4000 epoxy primer to the cleaned and prepared area to create a tenacious bond between the concrete and the new flooring system. Item 9: Apply Floor Resurfacing 4000 resurfacer and then power trowel it to a smooth, dense finish with a nominal thickness of ¼ inch. Item 10: Grind the cured resurfacer to remove surface imperfections. Item 11: Sweep and vacuum the entire surface to remove all contaminants. Item 12: Saw cut the joints and fill them with a flexible joint material. Item 13: Apply one coat of Floor Resurfacing 4000 pigmented, 100% solids epoxy as a grout coat. Item 14: Apply one coat of Floor Resurfacing 4000, pigmented, aliphatic polyester polyurethane as a final coat. Item 15: ensure approximate dry film thickness of the Floor Resurfacing 4000 flooring system is 250 mils or ¼ of an inch. Item 16: Supply all tools and equipment needed for job. Item 17: Remove all debris from West Point. Item 18: Complete work within 7 days from start of project. Item 19: Include at least 5 colors in the quoted price. Final design colors will come from COR in a preconstruction meeting. Item 20: Complete all CMRA reporting requirements. Item 21: Conspicuously post at all entrances to the apparatus bay signage to prevent unknowing people from walking onto the surface with they should not be there. Item 22: Submit written warranty showing period of coverage and what is covered under the warranty. Item 23: Provided in the contract will be a thick protective matt that can be laid the continuous length of both of the bays (53'), protecting the flooring from trucks with chains mounted to the tires. The matt can be separate pieces, however those pieces cannot be less than 2.5ft wide and 9/16"thick. Item 24: Install 6 inch cove base surrounding the truck bay floors.
