Inductively Coupled Plasma - Optical Emission Spectrometry
The government seeks a preferred ICP-OES comparable to the Agilent 5800, though equivalent systems meeting the specifications may be offered. Mandatory minimums include a benchtop, simultaneous-reading ICP-OES with solid-state detector, vertical dual-view plasma, Echelle polychromator, purged and thermostated optics, and capability for aqueous and organic matrices such as oil, MIBK, kerosene, and hexanes. It must include a solid-state 750–1500 W RF generator, mass-flow-controlled plasma gases with computer-controlled oxygen addition for organics, a cassette-style vertical torch with cyclonic spray chamber and concentric nebulizer, peristaltic pump, and HF-resistant sample introduction hardware. Software must be 64-bit Windows 11 compatible with automated background/spectral interference correction, QC for blanks/spikes/duplicates, raw data saving, post-run reprocessing, and performance meeting EPA ICP-OES detection limits and CRDLs. The instrument must be new, include a one-year parts/labor/travel warranty, separate remotely placeable water chiller, autosampler with at least 180 sample positions and 11 standards, and analyze certified metal standards within ±10% for typical alloy steel, stainless steel, copper alloy, cast/wrought aluminum, and titanium alloys, excluding atypical ICP-OES elements such as C, N, H, and O.
