3D Foot Scanner for Boot Fitting
The Brigade seeks ten commercial-off-the-shelf, brand-agnostic Automated 3D Digital Footwear Fitting Systems plus associated annual technical service to modernize Initial Entry Training Clothing Initial Issue Points across Reception Battalions. The systems are intended to address initial issue throughput constraints, eliminate manual sizing inaccuracies, and reduce preventable lower-extremity musculoskeletal injuries among incoming trainees. They must use non-invasive optical or sensor-based 3D scanning to measure standing volumetric foot dimensions under body weight, capture dual-foot length, width, arch height, heel width, ball girth, and pressure distribution in a single scan cycle of no more than 20 seconds, and automatically convert millimeter data into military combat boot sizes across Narrow, Regular, Wide, and Extra Wide. Each unit must be ruggedized and self-contained for high-tempo daily recruit volume, include an intuitive touchscreen interface, and provide continuous software support and diagnostic calibration capability. Distribution will be four systems to the 120th AG Battalion, two each to the 30th, 43rd, and 95th AG Battalions, and one to Brigade/LTB headquarters as an operational reserve float.
