Amendment to add Set Aside Code from N/A to Total Small Business Set-Aside. Overview:Request is for Prefabricated Timber Crossing Panels. The timber panels layover the rail and ties to allow passenger vehicles cross. The panels are generally 8 feet in length and require detailed cuts, notching, beveling, and drilling to perfectly fit inside the rail gauge and outside on the rail field side.Requirement:Requesting quote for timber crossing panels to repair/replace the existing panels for eleven (11), standard rail gauge, crossings. Each crossing is comprised of eight (8) panels, 8-ft panel sections (gauge and field panels) for a total of 704 track feet of grade crossings. Total Panels Required = 88 Pannels (11 Crossings x 8 Panels per crossing).Panels Length = 8 ft sections (gauge and field panels).Total Track Feet = 704 ftPanels SHALL be Full depth creosote-treated hardwood timber crossing panels for railroad crossings.Timbers SHALL be primarily oak and with some mixed hardwoods allowed.Panels must be fit for 100-lb AREA rail placed on 10-ft cross-ties.The panels SHALL NOT be pre-drilled for fasteners, and no fasteners required.The standard creosote retention for railroad timbers is 7 pounds per cubic foot (pcf) for oak, hickory, or mixed hardwoods. Creosote is required for protection against decay fungi and insects, and restores the woods natural elasticity.
