Fort Riley requires a commercial Sling Head Attachment compatible with its existing KALMAR RT240 Loading/Unloading system to support Railyard operations. Only one unit is being procured, with no option periods. Fort Riley intends to use a sole-source, 100% Small-Business Set-Aside solicitation because only one manufacturer makes the relevant compatible Sling Head Attachment. The attachment must be compatible with and provide similar or identical capabilities/use cases to the existing Railyard sling head, be durable, have at least 48,000 lbs lifting capacity, attach and detach quickly, and include storage when not in use.
