U.S. Army Clothing – Interlining Material: The U.S. Army Product Manager Soldier Clothing and Individual Equipment (PM-SCIE) is conducting a market research investigation for a commercial interlining to be used in the construction of the Hat, Service, Female Drill Instructor. The interlining is an important component of the Female Drill Instructor Hat since it enables it to maintain its shape over the life of the hat. The goal of this effort is to identify firms with capabilities to provide this interlining. Interest is in readily available domestically produced commercial interlinings. Interlining Material: The previous interlining used was Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) with the below physical requirements and is no longer available. Any domestically available materials will be accepted for the submission. Shall meet or exceed the following physical requirements See Table Attached 4. Potential Quantities:Initial quantities for Government testing will be determined based on the number of qualifying responses to this RFI. If selected, the quantity required for the initial lab testing efforts would be no more than 5 yards. Interested sources shall, within twenty-one (21) calendar days of the publication of this RFI, respond with information on their current product(s) and/or future products and how they would address the requirements listed above. The information package shall contain the following items: Detailed information regarding the firm's production capabilities for the submitted items, to include whether the items can be domestically produced in compliance with Section 2533a of Title 10 U.S. Code (i.e. the “Berry Amendment”). General information pertaining to the firm such as address, point of contact, and business size. Pricing for currently available products or potential products. Interlining specifications. Product samples may be submitted, if available. If a firm chooses to submit samples, no payment will be made by the Government for such samples.
