The U.S. Army is conducting market research to identify qualified businesses capable of modernizing the Tropical Wind Tunnel fan motor and bypass fan system at Building 2, Natick Soldier Systems Center. The work includes engineering analysis, design, manufacturing, installation, testing, commissioning, and training, with a desired performance of maintaining approximately 40 MPH wind speed and an alternative design capable of approximately 65 MPH. Contractors should have experience with industrial fan systems, wind tunnels, rotating equipment, VFDs, and commissioning in DoD or industrial research facilities. The anticipated completion for the performance period is no later than 31 December 2026. No contract will be awarded from this notice, and no costs incurred in responding will be reimbursed.
