Synopsis – (Sole Source) Non-RFI Version 1. Class Code: 3670 2. NAICS Code: 333242 3. Subject: NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE – Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) System 4. Solicitation Number: W911QX-22Q0134 5. Set-Aside Code: N/A 6. Response Date: 8/29/2022 7. Place of Performance: US Army Army Research laboratory, 2800 Powder Mill Rd, Adelphi, MD, 20783 8. Description: The United States Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source. The Army Research Laboratory (ARL) requires an Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) system with unique system design and add-on features. Kurt J. Lesker Company manufactures an ALD system which offers these features which are critical for diamond surface electronics. Operations below the specified performance level do not allow ARL to meet mission and customer research goals. Therefore, the ALD is imperative. See attached Salient Characteristics Redacted for full requirement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Kurt J. Lesker Company, 1925 Rte 51, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 for the purchase of the ALD system. This purchase will include a delivery of 13 months after award. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency, only if received by the closing date and time of this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government does not intend to use Part 12 for this acquisition. Responses to this notice are due on or before 08/29/2022 03:00 pm EST by email at melissa.murphy14.ctr@army.mil.
