The United States Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source based on compatibility requirements, proprietary issues, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) certifications. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with L-3 Applied Technologies, Inc., 2700 Merced St., San Leandro, CA 94577-5602, for an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract for equipment maintenance Contract for L-3 manufactured equipment. The proposed ordering period for this IDIQ contract will be for five (5) years which Firm Fixed Price (FFP) type delivery/task orders (TO) will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency, only if received by the closing date and time of this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Requirement: The objective of this contract is to provide OEM supplies and services for Government-owned Flash X-ray Systems and Computed Radiography Systems. The supply portion consists of replacement and expendable items including but not limited to the following: x-ray tubes, 150 kilovolt (kV), 300 kV, 450 kV, 1 MV, Remote Tubehead Cables, Control cables, Remote Tubeheads, Modules, High voltage power supplies, XCON Trigger systems, Trigger Transformers, Charge Resistors, Flash X-ray Systems including standard add-on channels and options; 150 kV, 300 kV, 450 kV, 1 MV, CR Image plates and Cassettes, CR cleaning screens, CR image readers. The service portion consists of maintenance and/or replacement services including but not limited to pulser rebuilding, troubleshoot and repair flash x-ray equipment including: Trigger system malfunctions x-ray pulser malfunctions – module and other high voltage component breakdowns, Factory repair of CR image readers and equipment modifications that consist of upgrades to existing system power supply and trigger systems, air conversion of existing 300 kV and 450 kV flash x-ray equipment, along with various components and assembly parts associated with -L3 Services.
