The vendor shall provide an instrument for ball-on-cylinder lubricity evaluator (BOCLE) scuffing load ball-on-cylinder lubricity evaluator (SLBOCLE). The instrument shall meet the following requirements: Standards: The instrument shall be compliant with and able to run ASTM D-5001 and ASTM D-6078 tests. Design and dimensions: The instrument shall be able to fit within a space (LxWxH) of 60 cm x 60 cm x 50 cm Force and Speed: The instrument shall be able to apply a normal force (load) to the specimen in discrete increments of 1 Newtons in the range of 5 to 50 Newtons (eg. 20, 21, 22). The instrument shall have a force transducer capable of measuring a normal force of at least 50 Newtons The instrument shall have a load cell capable of measuring the friction force (perpendicular to the normal force) The instrument shall allow rotation speeds of up to 525 rotations per minute (RPM) with accuracy of 0.5 RPM Specimens The instrument shall allow for a fixed spherical ball specimen to be loaded against the outer circumference of a rotating cylindrical ring specimen. The instrument shall allow for a ball specimen with 12.7 mm diameter The instrument shall allow for a ring specimen with 49.10 to 49.25 mm outer diameter and 13.00 to 13.11 mm thickness. The instrument shall come with the following specimens 20 ring specimens meeting the requirements for ASTM D5001 20 ring specimens meeting the requirements for ASTM D6078 200 ball specimens meeting the requirements for ASTM D6078 Test Chamber and Fuel Bath There shall be a liquid bath for the specimens which can accommodate 50 mL of fuel The ambient temperature of the test chamber shall be able to be controlled through heating/cooling between 5 and 35 ?C The fuel temperature shall be controlled to be 25±1 ?C Spare Parts The instrument shall come with 1 spare part for the following if applicable Ring Adapter Ring Clamp Temperature Probe The instruments shall come with a data logging system. The data logging system shall record data for the load cells (lateral and vertical), speed, friction, temperature, and any other sensors data being acquired. Recorded data shall be able to be exported to an open, non-proprietary file type (e.g. csv, txt) The vendor shall travel to the end-user facility in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD to install the instrument, provide the users with training, and provide a user manual in either hard copy, digital copy, or both. The equipment shall come with a minimum 1 year (12 month) warranty.
