Subject: NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE – One (1) refractory metal retort furnace to be integrated with a two-port glove box for operation at 1700°C degrees (°) Celsius(C), under a variety of atmospheres including vacuum, inert or flammable gases. 4. Description: The United States Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501(a), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements based on compatibility requirements of operating in a variety of atmospheres including high vacuum, flowing inert gases and flowing flammable gases in a safe and interlocked system. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Oxy-GON Industries, Inc., 42 Old Route 28, Epsom, NH 03234-4115 for one (1) Oxy-GON retort, glovebox integrated furnace, model #EC200-170-04T, with spare Parts. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency, only if received by the closing date and time of this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
