Objective: To find sources that are qualified to meet the supplies/services as listed in section 11B. Note that the specific requirements are subject to change prior to the release of any solicitation. B. The Contractor shall deliver one (1) Titan compact neodymium:yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) high energy pulsed laser system with custom beam shaping optics that meets or exceeds the following minimum requirements: Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) 0001: Shall have a laser wavelength at 1064 nanometers (nm). Shall provide at least seven (7) joules (J) of energy in a single beam and a single pulse. Shall maintain a pulse to pulse energy variation less than or equal to 1% root mean square (rms) over 1000 shots. Shall maintain a pulse to pulse energy variation less than or equal to 2.5% rms over eight (8) hours. Shall maintain a laser pulse width (full width at half maximum (FWHM)) between ten (10) and twenty (20) nanoseconds (ns). Shall provide a beam diameter of no more than twenty-five (25) millimeters (mm). Shall provide a pulse repetition rate of five (5) Hertz (Hz). Shall provide a laser that is spatially multimode with a beam quality factor (M2) within a range of 22-27 (M2). Shall provide a laser head footprint no larger than 50 x 20 x 10 inches. Shall include a dedicated optical set-up coupled to the laser to deliver appropriate beam profile onto the target. The output laser energy from the optical set-up shall be greater than 75% of the input laser energy. Shall provide the following spatial beam characteristics on the target: a flat-top round beam with a supergaussian spatial distribution with an order of eight (8) minimum. The Government defines the supergaussian intensity distribution as I(r) = I0 * exp[-2(r/r0)n]). Shall provide a spatial modulation on the plateau within 4% rms. The Government defines the plateau of the supergaussian intensity distribution as the central zone of the beam whose intensity is greater than 95% of the max level of the intensity of the least-square best fit curve. Shall provide a beam spot of one (1) mm to four (4) mm onto the target with no major change of beam distribution within +/- five (5) mm of depth of focus for the smaller spot size. The Contractor shall discuss design and implementation of dedicated optical set-up prior to installation. The Contractor shall provide two (2) hard copies of the operator manual. CLIN 0002: The Contractor shall provide delivery, installation, set-up and testing at the ARL in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland 21005-5066 within sixteen (16) weeks After Contract Award (ACA).
