Power Consumption – Minimum 1HP, Maximum 3.5HP (Machines in this power range shall fall in our physical footprint requirements, higher HP machines will be too large for our lab space.) Spindle Speed Operating Range –Between 25 and 60,000 rpm. Speeds shall be infinitely variable within this range. Feed Requirements Automatic Feed Rate – Between 0.0020 and 0.0075 inches/revolution. X and Z Axis Path Feed Rate – Between 0.01” and 100 inches per minute. Ball Screw Precision Accuracy - +/- 0.0010” or better. Manual Thread-Cutting Range – Between 7 and 44 TPI (threads per inch). Thread-Cutting Programmability Required Tailstock Requirements Spindle Travel Distance – Range of 1.5” to 4”. Lateral Displacement - +/- 0.050” or better Controller Requirements Stand-alone PC with touchscreen monitor, or integrated Siemens 808 type controller or equivalent. Machine Footprint Width – Between 48” and 84” Depth – Between 24” and 44” Height – Between 18” and 84” Weight – Maximum of 1,500 lbs. Additional Characteristics Chuck Size – 3” to 6” Diameter 3-Jaw Chuck Coolant – Through-the-spindle (TTS) is optimal, but conventional coolant capability is acceptable C.
