The Contractor shall deliver the following items to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG): One (1) table top upright laser confocal microscope Power system 100-120 Volts (V), 50-60 Hertz (Hz) Footprint no larger than 35 inches (”) x 35” The contractor shall provide an independent control unit for analyzing the data. Optics Color imaging capability with white light A violet (390-419 nm) laser is required Capable of operating in the magnification range of 100X-15,000X (larger ranges are encouraged) Shall include Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) imaging capability Stage Stage shall have an operating range of at least 3.9” x 3.9” A motorized stage is required Automatic image stitching capability shall be required Navigation of sample will be possible using a low resolution image or map Turret Shall have a motorized turret for software-controlled objective lens changing Shall be able to hold at least four (4) objective lenses in the nose piece Shall come with the following objective lenses 5X, 10X, 20X, 50X and long working distance lenses for 20X, 50X and 100X Measurement Shall have automatic measurement capability Height Resolution at a minimum of 0.5 nanometer (nm) Equipment shall be programmable to allow measurements in different areas of the specimen both as a grid as well as in user-selectable locations Shall be able to accurately measure steep angles (at least up to 80 degrees (°) from horizontal) Analysis package Data-driven automatic assist for selecting areas of interest based on height data Automatic maximum/minimum height detection for an area Automatic edge detection for objective, user-independent analysis Average height measurement capability Capable of batch analysis of data Shall be able to display multiple height maps simultaneously with similar height scales and orientations International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard-based measurements of surface and line roughness Measurement capability for length, circular diameter and angle Tilt correction capability Profile measurement Volume measurements Data must be exportable to excel format and reports to PDF format The contractor shall provide all associated user manuals, pre-installation guides, and supplementary information.
