The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Research Triangle Park Division is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) on the topic of neutral atoms quantum computing, in support of the U.S. Army Research Office (ARO) and the Laboratory for Physical Sciences (LPS). In particular, this RFI seeks information on the status and technical challenges associated with manipulating and performing high fidelity and stable quantum gates on neutral atoms for application in universal fault-tolerant quantum computing. Neutral atom systems have made many significant advances in recent years [1-4] and this RFI is seeking insight into those advances, potential new revolutionary approaches, and methods to overcome roadblocks limiting fault-tolerant universal quantum computation using neutral atoms. There are 4 main topic areas detailed below: 1) Insight into fundamental limitations; 2) Key supporting technology requirements for near-term experimental demonstrations; 3) Possibilities for modular implementations and 4) Community input into government investment needs. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. This Request for Information (RFI) is for government informational purposes only and shall not be considered as a request for proposals or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses to this RFI or the Government's use of such information. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any contractor's input resulting from this RFI. No contract will be awarded from this announcement.
