It is not an RFQ. Anniston Army Depot intends to solicit a contract for the purchase of Kolene® No. 6, a commercial thermochemical cleaning salt used in its anhydrous molten state as an oxidizing medium for the removal of oils, greases, organic materials, and coatings from engine components during remanufacture. Deliveries to 7 Frankford Avenue, Anniston, AL shall consist of one to four supersacks (2,000 pounds each) monthly, totaling up to forty-eight supersacks over a 12-month period, as defined in a statement of work. The contract shall be for a one-year base period beginning at contract award with four one-year option periods. This acquisition is sole sourced to Kolene Corporation, 12890 Westwood Street Detroit, MI 48223. Kolene Corporation is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the Kolene Molten Salt Bath Cleaning System. Kolene® No. 6 is a proprietary chemical product formulation owned and produced by Kolene Corporation. Its composition and ingredients are a trade secret. As such, Kolene® No. 6 molten salt bath process chemical is available only from Kolene Corporation. Any organization which believes itself to be in possession of these capabilities can provide written evidence including written permission from Kolene Corporation to sell and distribute Kolene® No. 6. North American Industry Classification System Code is 325998 and the associated size standard is 650 employees. A solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502, and 5.102(a); therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. The estimated issue date is 18 Aug 2023. Proposals must be submitted electronically as stated in the solicitation. Vendors may download an electronic copy of the solicitation on or after the issue date at https://sam.gov. Hard copies will not be provided. Because the solicitation and any amendments will be issued electronically, the Government is under no obligation to maintain a bidder’s mailing list. It is incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to respond in accordance with the amendments prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals may render an offeror’s proposal non-responsive and may result in rejection of the proposal.
