LAYOUT - CNC Vertical Turning Center (see attachment for details) The purpose of Amendment 0001 is to remove the 8a designation from this solicitation. block 10 on the STANDARD FORM 1449. This aquisition is set aside 100% for Small Business. The CNC VTC shall be new and one of the manufacturer’s current models capable of operation in accordance with the requirements herein. The machine will be a Heavy Duty cast or molded frame (not a welded steel frame). The CNC VTC shall be capable of operation in manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic cycle. The turning center shall use standard ISO programming format for computer numerical controlled machine tools. It will include all required software and hardware necessary to program and operate the CNC VTC from the machine’s control panel. The CNC control will accept programs from an off-line programming system. The CNC VTC shall have box ways which are induction-hardened and Turcite coated on the linear axes. The machine shall have two precision spindle bearings – one thrust and one radial. Included should be a flood coolant system, coolant gun, through tool coolant system, work light, splash guard enclosure, spare parts list, maintenance and instruction manuals, standard set of wrenches and keys for the CNC VTC and its accessories. All parts subject to wear, breakage, or distortion shall be accessible for adjustment, replacement, and repair.

This specification establishes the requirement for 1 each Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Vertical Turning Center (VTC) on the Anniston Army Depot in Anniston Alabama. Exact specifications and requirements will be explained in the solicitation. This procurement is 100% set aside for small businesses. North American Industry Classification System Code is 333517; size standard is 500. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502, and 5.102(a); therefore hardcopies will not be provided. Proposals submitted must be in electronic format as stated in the solicitation.
