Emergency Water Conveyance Prototype (EWCP)
The project involves developing a proof of concept and constructing a new glacier lake outburst flood (GLOF) protection system (EWCP) for the Mendenhall Valley in Juneau, Alaska, to prevent water levels in Suicide Basin from exceeding 1,100 feet NAVD88 and safely manage peak discharges of about 1,000 cubic feet per second. The area faces severe, escalating flood hazards from GLOF events originating in Suicide Basin, which have caused significant damage in recent years. An Industry Day is planned in Juneau, Alaska on Friday, August 21, 2026. Performance of services would be in the Juneau, Alaska area. No budget amounts are specified in the description.
