The Humanitarian Demining Research and Development (HD R&D) Program requires various skill levels and expertise to support and execute strategic program plans. In particular, skills in six (6) major areas are required: (1) Support of the development, fabrication, demonstration and validation of equipment technologies developed by the HD R&D Program; (2) Assessing and maintaining this equipment while supporting various worldwide operational field evaluations (OFE) at various test facilities located in the U.S. and Outside the Contiguous United States (OCONUS); (3) Preparing manuals, training guides, and training videos in English and/or foreign languages to support the deployment of HD prototype technologies to host countries for operational field evaluations; (4) Maintaining and supporting the HD R&D Program website; (5) Providing logistics support for OCONUS deployments of HD detection technologies to third world countries; and (6) Participating in conferences, meetings, workshops or other events pertinent to the HD R&D Program execution, including the demining requirements workshop conducted bi-annually and the unexploded ordnance (UXO) working group meeting held bi-annually at OCONUS locations. Specific activities include venue coordination and preparation of briefing materials as required.
