This is a notice to announce an upcoming Request for White Paper (RFWP) through the Sensors, Communications, and Electronics Consortium (SCEC) for the Development, Research, and Engineering of Small Tactical Electric Power (STEP) Lightweight Generators Set effort. The overall goal of the STEP Lightweight Generators Set is for development of a lightweight generator prototype. This effort supports Sensors, Communications, and Electronics Research and Prototyping and the technological objective: Tactical and Deployed Power. The Government develops a set of core solutions aimed at increasing the survivability, effectiveness, and efficiency of cyber weapons systems and command and control solutions employed by the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of the Army. Proposed prototype solutions should take the form of technology pilots, analyses / assessments, and initial operational capabilities. The solutions must address the Government need for a lightweight generator which produces between 1.5 and 2.0 kilowatts (kW) and operates on common military fuels such as Jet Propellant 8 (JP-8) or North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) F-24. This request is issued according to the authority provided under 10 U.S.C. 2371b, Other Transaction Authority.
